Our Postnatal Restorative Tea is a unique herbal tea made with 100% organic ingredients encouraging vitality and balance after birth, whilst supporting a well-nourished milk supply for your growing baby.

ABOUT THESE ORGANIC INGREDIENTS

This tea contains a number of galactagogue herbs that support a balanced supply of breastmilk. Fennel, a well known galactagogue is drunk as a tea to help ease colic.

If you’re happy with your milk supply, drink 2 cups per day. If you’re needing to increase your supply we suggest you drink our “Milky Way” Breastfeeding tea 2 x per day as well as Postnatal Restorative 2 x per day. If you have an oversupply of milk no more than one cup per day.

Red Raspberry, Nettle and leaves….This duo of herbs has been used for centuries supporting women in their recovery after birth. Raspberry leaf is well known as an after birth herbal supplement supporting the recovery of the pelvic floor and uterus. A wonderful herb to support breastmilk supply.

Alfalfa Leaf….Breastfeeding mothers have been using alfalfa leaf to support lactation for a long time. It contains phytoestrogens or plant-components that resemble estrogen and can attach to their receptors, and is anecdotally thought to increase milk supply.

Gotu Kola… An Ayurvedic herb used to discourage nervous exhaustion whilst promoting mental clarity. A connective tissue tonic that helps restore tone to the ligaments and uterine tissues. As a circulatory tonic Gotu Kola has been known to help in the healing of varicose veins and haemorrhoids.

Shatavari… This herb is renowned in Ayurveda for its affinity with the female reproductive system and hormone balance at any stage of life. Believed to stimulate breastfeeding hormones which supports a healthy balanced milk supply. Thought to reduce stress and fight depression whilst encouraging healthy energy levels.

Fennel… This fantastic little seed is a well known galactagogue and has been used for centuries. Drinking fennel seed tea can also help relieve colic in babies.

Spearmint… There’s just a touch of spearmint in this tea to help hide some of the more medicinal herbal flavours. Spearmint is a wonderful herb to help relieve unwanted gas.

Lavender A beautiful aromatic flower that’s been used for centuries in herbal medicine. Well known for its ability to encourage a relaxed state of being, discouraging anxiety and supporting a deeper sleep.

Rose… Soothes our emotional body during our recovery from birth

HOW TO BREW YOUR TEA?

I personally like my tea strong in flavour, I use 1 generous teaspoon of herbs per cup and allow it to brew for a good 10 minutes. For those who like a gentle flavoured tea, brew only 5 minutes. You can brew your tea herbs twice as the majority of the herbs in my teas are Australian grown which provides a far superior herbal tea which is why the tea is still delicious on the second brew.

The longer brewing time allows the herbs to release their full flavour and beneficial value. For the most therapeutic benefit brew your tea over night which allows 8 hours for the herbs to release all their goodness

Another fun way to brew tea is “sun brewing”. A gentle process protecting the vitamin and mineral content of the herbs.  Place ¼ cup of herbs in a litre jar, cover the herbs with water and give them a good shake. Cover the jar with a dark cloth and leave the brew in the sun for the day.

Drink 2-4 cups daily for up to 6 months postpartum or until the completion of breastfeeding. The more you drink the more your milk will flow!
